Lower and Upper Eyelid

Eyelids are one of the areas where aging shows itself and attracts the most attention. Eyes are our most important organs supplementing beauty and youth and giving meaning to the face. Due to their thin and porous structure, wrinkles, bagging and sagging are frequently seen on the eyelids and their surroundings. The losses and sagging in the neighboring face tissue have an impact on lower and upper eyelids as well.

If there is only sagging and bagging on the eyelids due to herniation of the fat tissue, the herniated fat tissue, and excessive skin is removed with blepharoplasty operation and the muscle in the eyelid which has lost its tonus is tightened.

In time, other facial structures change together with eyelids as well; eyebrows together with forehead fall onto upper eyelids, a certain trough called tear trough forms between lower eyelids and cheeks. This deformity arises due to sagging of the cheeks and loss of subcutaneous tissue.

Blepharoplasty operations may not be able to resolve these problems by themselves. A more natural and harmonic look in terms of anatomical parts of the face could be obtained by combining other aesthetic operations (such as eyebrow lifting, forehead lifting, middle face lifting, fat graft).
